Because it’s New York, so why wouldn’t I offer to host 30 people in my brownstone studio loft apartment? Lucky for me, the event on Sunday was a success, and mother and baby were well celebrated.
This whole thing with my friends starting to have babies has really got me thinking. It feels like a new season of life, and one I am not quite ready to embrace. Paul and I will have been married for 6 years this August! We’ve been together for 8 1/2 years! We’re steadily nearing 30! Well, he is at least.
And yet. We aren’t quite there. We need to pay down student loan debt. I need to be willing to live in the same city for more than 3 years. We need to have some semblance of normality in our lives. We need to live in a two bedroom apartment. In New York.
So, there’s that.
But let me tell you, these baby bumps all around me sure are CUTE.
And just to show that a studio isn’t, in fact, the worst place to host a party, I’ve included a few photos of the baby shower in my tiny apartment. Leo was looking extra fancy in his bow tie, to celebrate the occasion.
(I am shamelessly using friends photos from the event. Don’t judge, I promise I’m not taking credit for them. Intellectual property? Never heard of it.)
