Yesterday I went to Bikram Yoga for the first time since I moved to Manhattan, and let me tell you, it was amazing. I was an avid Bikram practitioner for 2 years on the West Coast, but I hadn’t quite found the mental energy or time to commit to the practice again here. Now that I am back, I feel amazing! The first class was rough – which I expected – but I was able to hit my stride and go through the movements without expectation or anxiety, which when you are in a 105 degree room pouring sweat and working hard for 90 minutes is quite an accomplishment.
Anyway, I have already booked another Bikram class this evening and will work to make it to class twice this week . PR hours make anything outside of working and sleeping nearly impossible, but a little work-life balance is much needed, so I am going to figure out a way to make it to class. I know I will look better and feel better as a result.
Leave a comment if you have thoughts on Bikram or are committing to your own work-life balance goals and let me know what you’re working on!
